Simply Jamie

Jamie, you know which one I mean :) When I see his enthusiasm for food and cooking, I realize that I sometimes think about how it would feel to be served a meal from Jamie. Fortunately, Jamie's cooking is very "down to earth", both when it comes to ingredients and methods. There are so many recipes by Jamie that I would like to try but after my obsessive dessert period, I'm more or less forced to get obsessed with salads. Sallads may sound boring to some people but the truth is that you never have to make the same sallad twice. Just pick and fuse seasonal vegetables - it works most of the times. I trusted Jamie with this one: radish and fennel are great mates! Fennel is absolutely not my favorite, in fact, I can't stand its strong licorice flavor - in most dishes. In this sallad, fennel behaved so that I didn't dislike it at all. So thank you Jamie, if you are reading this (of course you are :D): I Like, like, like!

Fennel, radish and asparagus salad



fennel
radish
green asparagus
sea salt
lemon juice
(cottage cheese)


Jamie was feeling rather embarassed when giving this "recipe", it's ridiculously simple.. The green asparagus and the cottage cheese was my idea to make the salad more filling. Or, make the salad as a side dish to roasted salmon.
Slice the radish and fennel as thin as you can. Chop the asparagus. Dress the vegetables with lemon juice and season with sea salt.

  4. Skvely salatik! Jamie mi pride taky trosku neohrabany, vsetko patla rukami, ale niektore recepty ma celkom vydarene :o) Nam najviac chutia jeho masove gulicky so spagetami... Recept je na Anetkinom blogu :o)

  6. :)) to si vystihla Mariannka, ze neohrabany :)) presne to sa mi na nom paci, clovek ma pocit, ze by sa pri nom velmi dobre a uvolnene citil (plus dobre najedol :))

  8. Evík parádny šalátik!!! máš pravdu, že šaláty nemusia byť nudné, a keď sa namieša z pestrej ponuky sezónnej zeleninky, tak chutí o to lepšie. Veľmi ma zaujal ten fenikel v ňom, stále si vravím, že ho už vyskúšam a stále sa neviem odhodlať...Ako Evka vlastne chutí?

Evi, diki! salatiky to je nase, dokonca aj moj masozravec si obcas velmi rad da nejaky pestry salat :) fenikel je asi jedina zelenina ktora mi skoro az vadi, odhodlam sa nam len raz za uhorsky rok..chuti totiz velmi vyrazne po pelendreku, a ten ja vobec nemam rada. Minule som podlahla feniklu v obchode, lebo bol velmi fesny :) a potom som dost dlho rozmyslala, co s nim..v tomto salate bol naozaj uzasny, spolu s redkovkami sa krasne doplnali, takze ani tu pelendrekovu chut nebolo citit (alebo som si to len nahovarala :))..Ak mas teda Evi rada vyrazne chute, fenikel ti urcite sadne. Tepelne upraveny ma vraj sladkasto-anizovu chut..ak ho niekedy vyskusas, budem velmi zvedava na tvoj dojem..

  10. pelendrek???hmmm, tak to je dačo pre mňa Evíček, lebo ja si stale kupujem rôzne pelendreky a sladké drievka. Dokonca občas mi môj drahý donesie od jedného jeho kamoša z Rakúska takých čiernych lakritzovych medvedíkov - neviem či to poznáš sú akoby pelendrekové sladké, ale zároveň aj s prídavkom soli, takže je to tak bizardne hnusná chuť, že je až dobrá:)))a keď ich začneš jesť, tak nemôžeš prestať:)) ten jeho kamoš-navyše silný cukrovkár spasie každý deň balík týchto medveďov:)takže pri najbližšej príležitosti - fenikel tras sa predo mnou:)))

  11. fenikel je teda pre Teba ako stvoreny! ja zo "sladkosti" nemusim jedine laktrizove veci-vo Svedsku inak velmi oblubena chut, pridavaju ju aj tam, kde by si necakala, napriklad do cokolad ci zmrzlin, mna uz len pri tej myslienke strasie :)) a slane cukriky patria tiez medzi svedske "lahodky", tebe by tu bolo hej :)
